Ordinary silicon dioxide, also known as silica, is not typically used as a pigment in Water-Based Canvas paint. Silica is a 

white, powdery substance that is commonly found in nature, such as in sand or quartz. It is primarily used as a filler or 

extender in paint formulations to improve texture, increase durability, and reduce costs.

In Water-based Canvas paints, pigments are used to provide color and opacity. These pigments can be organic or inorganic 

compounds that are finely ground and dispersed in a water-based binder. Common inorganic pigments used in water-based 

paints include titanium dioxide, iron oxide, and carbon black.

If you are looking to create your own water-based canvas paint, it is recommended to use commercially available pigments 

specifically designed for this purpose. These pigments are formulated to have good lightfastness, stability, and compatibility 

with the paint binder. They are also finely ground to ensure smooth application and good coverage.

Using ordinary silicon dioxide as a pigment in water-based canvas paint may not provide the desired color or opacity, and it 

may not adhere well to the canvas surface. Additionally, the particle size and shape of silica may cause issues with the
